"Doing Things the Hemingway" is the third episode of the first season of Kenan & Kel which was first broadcast on August 31, 1996.
Summary[]
After Kenan reads a biography about Ernest Hemingway, he is inspired to create a list of three life goals he wants to accomplish to make his life more complete.
Kenan soon devises a plan to accomplish two of his goals at once by climbing to the top of the Sears Tower, and declaring his love to a girl - Brianna - by hanging up a sign on the tower that says, "Kenan Loves Brianna". This leads to Kenan and Kel getting stuck at the top of the building, accidentally ripping the sign in the process and causing it to say, "Kenan Loves Brian".
In the end, both Kenan and Kel are rescued from the tower, but the former is approached by a guy named Brian who saw his sign.

- Kyra is not seen in this episode.
- Some of the things Kel wanted to accomplish included - meeting an Eskimo (a running gag throughout the episode), riding a bike naked, looking inside a videotape (which he's already done), stuffing 50 grapes in his mouth (soon changed to 33 instead), spank a walrus, and getting rid of his rash (Kenan repeatedly told him to use his ointment).
- Kel brings a lot of useless things to the Sears Tower which he stores in his backpack, including dog treats, weights, a hair dryer, a big bowl of fruit, and a juicer (to juice his fruits).
- Roger and Sheryl were watching Casablanca, a famous 1940s movie, at home when Kenan and Kel came in. It was also the tape Kel took home with him to watch (along with their VCR), and later was the same videotape he opened to try and look inside.
